VOICE OVER is a solo piece included in a larger choreographic project iniziated by Cristina Rizzo called Dance N°3, which has premiered last november 2009 in Italy, produced by RomaEuropa Festival/Aperto RED Festival and sustained by Xing.
The project consisted in the writing of a choreographical score that was given to other three chorographers to translate and to create a solo piece to be performed by Cristina itself.
The original score was made of a series of lemmas and immages that the choreographers could interpret freely founding a personal key of access but starting from a common practice of thinking the body and its stratifications, among which the gesture is only the final event.

"Though the initial score and the choreographic and vocal score of VOICE OVER don't relate in terms of content and structure they both approach the aim of composing expression by using the concept of embodiment, they both emphasize the constructedness of those productions.
The piece explores possible relationships between movement and voice and the idea of body as a Moebius Strip where concepts like interior and exterior or cause and effect become unstable categorizations. The performer is engaged in more or less parallel activities producing a 'schizophrenic' or composite state and performing mode where multitude of intentions are in constant negotiation. The body of the performer becomes the site of cross-fertilized expressions and an interstice of intensities." Eszter Salamon
